PGA Tour rejects immediate return pathway for LIV Golf players
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp announced that the organization is not currently contemplating a returning-member program similar to the one offered to Brooks Koepka earlier this year. This decision impacts LIV Golf players, including major champions Cameron Smith, Jon Rahm, and Bryson DeChambeau, who previously declined an immediate return pathway to the US circuit.
Following LIV Golf’s recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, the future of its players remains uncertain. While there is no instant route back to the PGA Tour, Rolapp noted a potential pathway exists through the DP World Tour, though players would likely need to compete on that circuit for at least one year first.
Rolapp emphasized that the PGA Tour is built on meritocracy, membership rules, and accountability. He stated that players must earn their place to maintain the integrity and competitive balance of the organization.
