PGA Tour Tour Championship begins at East Lake Golf Club

The PGA Tour's Tour Championship, the final event of the FedEx Cup playoffs, has commenced at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The tournament features a total prize pool of $40 million, with $10 million awarded to the winner.

In the opening round, South Korean golfer Kim Joo-hyung shot a 3-under-par 67, placing him in a tie for 15th place. He finished five strokes behind the leader, Min Woo Lee, who shot a 62. Kim Si-woo also competed, finishing the first day tied for 25th after shooting a 1-under-par 69.

World number one Scottie Scheffler opened the tournament strongly with a 5-under-par 65, placing him tied for 5th. Other notable competitors included Rory McIlroy, who finished the round tied for 20th with a 2-under-par 68. The tournament features a field of 30 players who qualified through the regular season and previous playoff rounds.
