PGD Talum Kidričevo hosts 6th annual Day with Firefighters

PGD Talum Kidričevo hosted its 6th annual ‘Day with Firefighters’ at Park Mladosti in Kidričevo. The event aimed to introduce children and young people to the firefighting profession and the concept of volunteer firefighting through educational activities and entertainment.

Participants engaged in various activities, including water games, a zipline, inflatable playgrounds, and rides on a fire ladder. For the first time, the event included demonstrations from civil protection and rescue services from Ptuj to provide a broader view of emergency response. A new addition this year was a ‘foam party,’ using firefighting foam as a fun interactive element.

Educational components included demonstrations on how to act during a fire, how to call for help, and a practical demonstration showing why oil fires should never be extinguished with water. Darko Berlič, president of PGD Talum Kidričevo, stated that the primary goal is to inspire the youth toward firefighting and rescue professions through play and engagement.
