PGE announces 210 billion PLN strategy and moves PGE Baltica to Gdańsk
PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna has unveiled its updated strategy through 2035, titled ‘Energy of a Digital Future’. The plan involves massive investments totaling approximately 210 billion PLN, aimed at transitioning the company toward low- and zero-emission energy sources. Key objectives include adding 11 GW of renewable energy capacity, developing 9.6 GW of flexible gas power, and investing in energy storage and nuclear energy, including small modular reactors (SMRs).
As part of this strategic shift, PGE Baltica, the group’s offshore wind specialist, is moving its headquarters from Warsaw to Gdańsk. This relocation is intended to increase operational efficiency by placing the company closer to Baltic Sea projects, key ports, and local supply chains.
Financially, the group aims for significant growth, targeting an EBITDA exceeding 30 billion PLN by 2035. The strategy also marks a return to dividend payments, with the first payout expected to be recommended for 2026, capped at a 5% dividend yield. The company intends to leverage digital technologies and artificial intelligence to manage the increasing demand for electricity driven by the electrification of the economy.
