PG&E power outages disrupt San Francisco and Santa Barbara
Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) has reported multiple unplanned power outages across California. In San Francisco, the iconic Ferry Building was left without electricity for approximately three hours on a Wednesday morning. The outage affected roughly 455 customers and impacted local businesses, including cafes and shops, as well as nearby traffic signals and pedestrian crossing signs.
In Santa Barbara County, an overnight outage in the Vandenberg Village area affected 2,411 customers starting late Wednesday night. Service was largely restored by early Thursday morning.
These incidents follow a series of recent electrical disruptions in the region, including a large-scale outage in San Francisco in July and a separate incident near the Oakland Coliseum BART station that caused significant train delays.
