Phú Quốc Island Ranks Among Expedia’s Top 10 Global Islands for 2026

Expedia’s 2026 “hot list” of the world’s most popular island destinations placed Vietnam’s Phú Quốc at ninth position. The ranking is based on a 55 % rise in global search queries for islands compared with 2025 and a 20 % increase in social‑media mentions. Despite broader economic and climate concerns, islands continue to attract strong traveller interest.

Phú Quốc is highlighted for its upscale resorts, protected forests, direct international flights and yacht‑terminal facilities, offering a quieter alternative to busier Southeast Asian hubs. The list also features Palawan (Philippines) and Cape Verde, which topped the rankings after a surge of World Cup‑related interest.
