Phan Hong, iconic 1980s Chinese actress, lives peaceful life

Phan Hong, a prominent Chinese actress known as the ‘screen goddess’ of the 1980s, is living a peaceful life in her later years. Born in Shanghai in 1954, she rose to fame through her roles in films such as ‘Love Letter’ and ‘Hong Fen Shi Jia’.

Throughout her career, she earned 13 Best Actress awards and was the first Chinese actress to appear on the cover of a famous international magazine. Her work has been recognized on a global scale, with four of her films featured at the Cannes Film Festival.

Despite her professional success, her personal life was marked by a brief marriage to director Mễ Gia Sơn in 1978. She has since lived a single life, focusing on her transition from film to television acting.
