Pharma. Aero reaches 100 members on 10th anniversary

Pharma. Aero has reached a milestone of 100 members worldwide as it celebrates its tenth anniversary. Founded in 2016 by Brussels Airport and Miami International Airport, the organization serves as a neutral platform connecting the life sciences and logistics sectors.

Originally focused on pharmaceutical airfreight, the network has expanded to include sea and road transport, uniting manufacturers, airlines, shipping companies, logistics providers, and academic institutions. Key areas of collaborative research and development include temperature management, sustainable multimodal logistics, packaging qualification, and the integration of artificial intelligence within MedTech and pharmaceutical supply chains.

Ongoing initiatives include the Precision Therapy Logistics (PTL) project. At Brussels Airport, partners are currently developing international logistics corridors and shared operational standards specifically designed for time- and temperature-critical treatments, such as cell, gene, and radioligand therapies.
