Pharmaceutical supply shortages announced for pain relief and antipsychotic medications

Several pharmaceutical products are facing supply disruptions in Central Europe. Zentiva has announced the discontinuation of Tralgit 100 in its injectable form, an opioid-based analgesic containing tramadol used to treat moderate to severe pain in adults and children from one year of age. This discontinuation is scheduled to take effect on March 31, 2027.

Additionally, the antipsychotic medication Invega, used to treat schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, will face a supply interruption. Due to technical issues at a manufacturing facility affecting the production of the active ingredient, the 9mg paliperidone extended-release tablets (49-count packs) will be unavailable from January 21, 2027, until approximately August 7, 2027. Manufacturers have advised patients not to alter their treatment without consulting a physician.
