Pharmacist arrested for killing son in Dakahlia, Egypt
A pharmacist has been arrested in the Dakahlia Governorate of Egypt following the killing of her 11-year-old son, Malik A., in the village of Mit Antar, Talkha.
Preliminary investigations indicate the mother killed the child inside their home using a metal pair of scissors and strangulation. The child's body was discovered by his grandfather, who had arrived to take him to Friday prayers. The mother reportedly left the house in a state of distress after the incident and was subsequently apprehended by security forces while walking in the street.
Authorities suggest the crime was driven by a severe psychological crisis following the mother's separation from her husband approximately one year ago. The victim's body was transported to the Mansoura International Hospital morgue, and forensic experts have been tasked with conducting an autopsy to finalize the cause of death as the public prosecution continues its investigation.
