PharmaResearch wins trademark lawsuit over Rejuran brand

PharmaResearch has won a trademark infringement lawsuit against manufacturers and sellers of oriental medicine injections that used a mark similar to its flagship brand, ‘Rejuran’. The Seoul Central District Court ruled that the defendant's mark, ‘MIZURAN’, was visually and phonetically similar to the registered trademark ‘Rejuran’. The court noted that both products are used for skin beauty injections, share the same consumer base, and that the similarity could lead to confusion regarding the source of the products.

The court has prohibited the use of the infringing mark on product containers and packaging, and ordered the destruction of all existing finished packaging.

In response, PharmaResearch is implementing a three-stage brand protection system. This includes 24-hour AI monitoring of global e-commerce platforms and social media to detect unauthorized use of logos and designs, a mobile authentication solution using anti-counterfeiting technology for medical professionals and consumers, and strict legal action against unauthorized distributors and illegal resellers.
