Phatthalung hosts 397 Years of Chai Buri cultural festival

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Phatthalung Province, has officially launched the ‘397 Years of Chai Buri: Miracle of Love Phatthalung By Amazing Thailand’ event. Held from August 8–10, 2026, the festival aims to revitalize the historic Chai Buri area as a premier destination for historical, cultural, and creative tourism.

The event was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, alongside various government officials and local leaders. The celebration focuses on the historical significance of the Chai Buri old town, particularly the Wat Khao Mueang Kao area, which serves as a spiritual and cultural cornerstone for the local community.

Under the theme ‘Miracle of Love Phatthalung,’ the festival highlights multiple dimensions of connection: love for the homeland, respect for ancestral heritage, community conservation, and the creative contributions of the younger generation. The initiative seeks to transform the region's historical assets into sustainable economic and social drivers through immersive tourism experiences.
