Pheli FM receives new studio equipment in Atteridgeville

Deputy Minister in the Presidency Kenny Morolong and the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) have handed over new studio equipment to Pheli FM in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria.

The new equipment is intended to improve the station’s broadcasting and production capabilities, enhance content quality, and provide a more efficient working environment for producers, presenters, and volunteers. Having celebrated 10 years on air last December, Pheli FM was recognized for its resilience in a difficult media landscape and its deep connection to the local community.

Morolong noted that the station serves as a vital platform for the residents of Atteridgeville, helping to document local history and providing a voice to a community facing challenges such as unemployment and poverty. The station is noted for its unique identity, incorporating ‘Sepitori’ alongside Sepedi, Setswana, isiZulu, and English.
