Phenikaa University Hospital records Vietnam's first delayed triplet birth
Phenikaa University Hospital in Vietnam has recorded the country’s first case of a delayed triplet birth. The medical event began on June 11, 2026, when the first baby boy was born at 27 weeks and 6 days, weighing 900 grams.
In a specialized medical decision, doctors managed to keep the remaining two triplets in the womb for an additional 36 hours to allow for further development. The second and third infants were subsequently born, weighing 950 grams and 1,000 grams, respectively.
Following more than 200 days of intensive management involving multiple medical departments—including genetics, fetal medicine, and neonatology—all three boys, named Minh Duc, Minh Vu, and Minh Khoi, successfully reached weights of over 3.5 kg and returned home to their family.
