Thailand mountain road crash injures 11 tourists

A three‑vehicle collision occurred on the steep S1 curve near Phu Thap Boek in Phetchabun province, Thailand. The crash involved a passenger van, a sedan and a pickup truck carrying a total of 16 Thai and foreign tourists.

Eleven passengers were treated for minor to moderate injuries at Somdej Phra Yuparaj Lom Kao Hospital; all remained in stable condition. Police from Lom Kao Police Station opened an investigation, with the driver reporting brake failure as a possible cause. Rescue teams from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation and local emergency services responded promptly and secured the hazardous road.

Authorities have issued safety advisories urging motorists on high‑altitude routes to check brakes and use low gears, and have deployed additional officers to monitor the dangerous mountain stretch.
