Pheu Thai Party targets semiconductor workforce and Uthenthawai dispute

The Pheu Thai Party has announced several key initiatives aimed at advancing Thailand's technological infrastructure and resolving local educational disputes. A major focus is the development of a specialized workforce for the semiconductor industry. Through a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Ministry of Labour, the government aims to train 10,000 high-skilled workers over the next five years to support sectors such as electric vehicles, medical devices, and smartphones.

Additionally, the party addressed the ongoing dispute between Uthenthawai Technological University and Pathumwan Institute of Technology. Following directives from the Ministry of Higher Education, teaching at the disputed site has been suspended for at least three months. Authorities are currently exploring a new location for Uthenthawai in the Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan, utilizing facilities from the Department of Skill Development to ensure students have access to necessary educational equipment.
