Phi Theta Kappa Honors University of Tulsa and Texas Community College Scholars

The University of Tulsa was placed on Phi Theta Kappa’s 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 275 colleges that excel in supporting community‑college transfer students. The honor evaluates institutions on transfer‑student success, credit mobility, financial support, recruitment practices, and campus engagement, using data from the National Student Clearinghouse and PTK’s online platform.

At the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Texas Honors Institute in Tyler, Texas, members of Northeast Texas Community College’s Alpha Mu Chi chapter secured four of the ten statewide Texas STAR Scholarships. José Fuentes, a psychology and Spanish major, earned the top‑scoring Dr. Mary Hood scholarship and serves as PTK’s International President. Emma Mendoza received the Dr. Melissa Fulgham Scholarship for her leadership as chapter president and her research on journalist Jovita Idár.
