Phil Collins and Paul McCartney settle long‑standing feud, donate memorabilia to charity

Phil Collins, the former Genesis drummer, and Sir Paul McCartney, ex‑Beatle, have ended a dispute that began in 2016 when Collins said McCartney had spoken to him condescendingly after a book‑signing request. The two musicians reconciled after McCartney offered to contribute memorabilia to a charity auction organized by Collins for the King’s Trust foundation. Collins said, “We have made up, he’s happy and I’m happy, so it’s really nice that it’s come full circle.” Their rivalry dated back to a 2016 interview, though they first met in 1964 when a young Collins appeared as an extra in the Beatles film “A Hard Day’s Night.” The auction will feature items from both artists to support the King’s Trust’s charitable work.
