Phil Collins and Sir Chris Hoy Confront Critical Health Crises

Legendary musician Phil Collins, 75, spent seven months in a Swiss hospital after his kidneys began to fail and other organs showed signs of failure. He recalled that his five children were called to say goodbye, though he was unaware of the moment because of his critical condition. Collins was discharged shortly before Christmas, later returned to intensive care, and now credits his survival to quitting alcohol and lives permanently in Switzerland under the care of a personal assistant.

Six‑time Olympic track‑cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy, 50, has been diagnosed with stage‑4 prostate cancer that has spread to his pelvis, spine, ribs and shoulder. Doctors estimate his life expectancy at two to four years. In addition, his wife Sarra Hoy has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a condition she initially concealed to avoid adding to his stress. Hoy continues treatment and remains active with his family.
