Phil Lynott solo career box set to be released

Mercury will release ‘The Story Of My Life’, an eight-CD box set documenting the solo career of Phil Lynott, the former frontman of Thin Lizzy. Compiled by archivist Nick Sharp and supported by the artist’s estate, the collection is described as the most comprehensive release of Lynott’s solo work to date.

The set includes his two solo albums, ‘Solo in Soho’ and ‘The Philip Lynott Album’, alongside the previously unreleased album ‘Fatalistic Attitude’. This unreleased project was originally intended for a 1982 release before being restructured due to its dark tone. The box set also features rare demos, alternate versions, and the first official release of ‘Can’t Get Away’, a track recorded with Huey Lewis shortly before Lynott’s death.

Additional content includes collaborations with Gary Moore and Paul Brady, as well as rehearsal recordings from his 1982 solo tour. The deluxe package will include a booklet with new commentary by Mark Blake and various archival photographs.
