Analyst Brandel Chamblee suggested that had Mickelson remained with the PGA Tour, his career impact might have mirrored that of Arnold Palmer, potentially including roles such as Ryder Cup captain or lead analyst for CBS.

Mickelson is a highly decorated professional golfer with 45 PGA Tour victories and six major championships, including three Masters titles. In 2021, he became the oldest player to win a major championship at the age of 50 by winning the PGA Championship. Since joining LIV Golf in 2022, he has served as the captain of HyFlyers GC.
