Philadelphia 76ers face roster balance concerns with new star additions

The Philadelphia 76ers face potential roster challenges following the acquisition of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James. Analysts have raised concerns regarding the team's high usage rates, as the roster now features multiple stars including Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe.

Data suggests that teams with high career usage rates among starters often struggle to find balance. Specifically, the 76ers' starters possess a 134% career usage rate. Historical trends indicate that while some high-usage teams reach the NBA Finals, only a small fraction secure championships.

There is speculation that Jaylen Brown could become a trade candidate if the team struggles to integrate these high-usage players or if the group fails to find a functional offensive rhythm. The difficulty of managing a 'Big Five' lineup where multiple players have historically been primary options remains a central concern for the franchise's success.
