Philadelphia Cycling Classic returns after 10-year hiatus

The Philadelphia Cycling Classic returned to the city streets following a 10-year hiatus, featuring international competitors and large crowds of spectators.

In the women’s competition, Italian cyclist Chiara Consonni secured first place, marking her first victory on U.S. soil. Alexandra Volstad and Ella Sabo finished second and third, respectively. Local rider Kim Stoveld, a Brewerytown resident, participated in the race and led a breakaway during one of the laps.

In the men’s race, Germany’s Tim Torn Teutenberg took the victory. Teutenberg followed in the footsteps of his aunt, Ina Yoko Teutenberg, who won the Philadelphia race five times between 2005 and 2012. Robert Donaldson and Jonas Rutsch finished second and third in the men's field.
