Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Jonathan Greenard ruled out against Commanders

Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Jonathan Greenard has been ruled out for the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders due to a pectoral injury. Greenard, who signed a four-year, $98 million contract extension this offseason, has been recovering from the injury since training camp. While he returned to practice recently, he has not yet reached full strength.

In Greenard's absence, the Eagles will rely on Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr. to start. Hunt, a third-year edge rusher, has been highlighted by analysts as a rising talent who could become a prominent national name following a strong 2025 season where he led the franchise in both sacks and interceptions.

To bolster depth in the rotation, the Eagles also added veterans A. J. Epenesa and Arnold Ebiketie during the offseason.
