Philadelphia Eagles face roster instability and quarterback challenges

The Philadelphia Eagles are navigating a difficult period marked by a four-game losing streak and significant roster departures. Following a season-ending diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis for quarterback Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee has taken over starting duties. McKee’s recent performance included a 25-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers, leading to suggestions that the team should pursue a veteran trade target such as Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph.

The team's offensive line has also undergone major changes. Former center Cam Jurgens was traded to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for draft picks, a move Jurgens described as an emotional transition following a concussion. Additionally, All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson has retired, and left guard Landon Dickerson has been identified by analysts as a potential trade candidate due to his current placement on injured reserve.

On the defensive side, coordinator Vic Fangio noted that cornerback Cooper DeJean’s recent struggles with tackling may be linked to a stinger injury sustained earlier in the season.
