Philadelphia Eagles lose to Panthers as Tanner McKee starts at quarterback
The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their fourth consecutive loss in Week 6, falling 25-14 to the Carolina Panthers. The defeat extends the team's record to 2-4.
Quarterback Tanner McKee started the game in place of Jalen Hurts, who was placed on injured reserve due to a blood clot in his calf. McKee completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown. Despite the performance, McKee offered a self-critical assessment following the game, stating, “My team needs me to be better. I need to be better. I am so much better, and I’m looking forward to learning everything and becoming the player that I know I am.”
The Eagles' offense struggled throughout the contest, managing only 222 total yards and experiencing five three-and-outs. While McKee connected with DeVonta Smith for a 19-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the score to 19-14, a bad snap later in the quarter halted Philadelphia's momentum. The Eagles are scheduled to face the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football next week.
