Philadelphia Eagles to continue using 'tush push' play

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion announced that the team will continue to utilize their signature short-yardage play, often referred to as the “tush push,” during the 2026 season.

Mannion stated, “It’s going to be a part of what we do. It’s been an extremely effective play here. We’re going to lean into that.” The play involves quarterback Jalen Hurts taking a snap in short-yardage situations while being pushed from behind by teammates.

Mannion, who previously served as the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers, becomes the fourth offensive coordinator for the Eagles in the last four years under head coach Nick Sirianni. The decision comes following a regular season where the Eagles ranked 24th in total offense and 23rd in passing offense.
