Philadelphia Flyers activate Denver Barkey from injured reserve

The Philadelphia Flyers have activated forward Denver Barkey from injured reserve for their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Barkey, 21, is returning from a lower-body injury sustained during a preseason matchup against the Washington Capitals in September. His return follows a delay caused by an injury aggravation during practice.

In a corresponding roster move, the Flyers placed forward Nikita Grebenkin on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Head coach Rick Tocchet praised Barkey’s hockey IQ and playmaking abilities, noting his potential to assist the offense. Barkey is expected to play on the wing, potentially joining a lineup alongside players such as Trevor Zegras and Owen Tippett. As a result of Barkey's return, forward Alex Bump is expected to be scratched from the lineup.
