Philadelphia Flyers face difficult start to 2026-27 season

Philadelphia Flyers NHL Porter Martone Pittsburgh Penguins hockey

The Philadelphia Flyers have faced a difficult start to the 2026-27 season, highlighted by a 7-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. This performance has raised concerns regarding the team's trajectory following their previous playoff run.

Individual struggles are also evident, specifically regarding Porter Martone. After showing significant promise last season with a high shot rate and point production, Martone's offensive output and shot attempts per 60 minutes have declined sharply in his recent games.
