Philadelphia Flyers face historic winless start to NHL season

The Philadelphia Flyers are facing the worst start in franchise history during the 2026-27 NHL season, holding a winless record of 0-5-2 through seven games. The team has been significantly outscored, trailing 28-8 in recent matchups, and currently ranks last in the Metropolitan Division and Eastern Conference.

Internal and external pressures are mounting regarding the team's direction. While General Manager Daniel Brière has urged fans not to panic, reports suggest growing frustration within the organization toward Travis Konecny, whose performance and impact have been questioned. There are rumors that the team could consider waiving his no-movement clause if struggles continue.

Head coach Rick Tocchet is also under scrutiny. While some analysts suggest his job is not in immediate danger, others argue that the team's inability to defend and lack of offensive production puts him on a hot seat. The Flyers are scheduled to face the Seattle Kraken in an attempt to break their winless streak.
