Philadelphia Flyers lock in Tyson Foerster and Dan Vladar with long‑term contracts
The Philadelphia Flyers announced a series of contract extensions on Wednesday. Forward Tyson Foerster received an eight‑year deal worth $56.8 million, with an average annual value of about $7.1 million, while goaltender Dan Vladar was signed to a five‑year extension valued at $27.5 million (approximately $5.5 million per year). Both contracts take effect for the 2027‑28 season. General manager Daniel Brière said the team is "excited to have Tyson be a key part of our long‑term future" and praised Vladar as "an exceptional addition to our locker room" and a "big leader".
In addition, defenseman Carl Grundström was re‑signed to a one‑year contract carrying a $1 million cap hit for the 2026‑27 season. The Swedish blueliner, acquired from the San Jose Sharks in October, contributed nine goals and four assists in 47 games for Philadelphia last season and will provide depth on the fourth line.
