Philadelphia Flyers sign Jamie Drysdale to four-year $26 million contract

The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have signed defenseman Jamie Drysdale to a four‑year contract worth $26 million, with an average annual value of $6.5 million. The deal avoids arbitration and locks the 24‑year‑old in Philadelphia through the 2029‑30 season. Drysdale posted a career‑high eight goals, three of them game‑winners, and matched his personal best with 32 points in the 2025‑26 season, ranking second among Flyers defensemen in scoring. He was awarded the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy as the team’s most improved player. The Flyers originally acquired Drysdale from the Anaheim Ducks in January 2024, trading forward Cutter Gauthier and a 2025 second‑round draft pick. Over six NHL seasons he has recorded 25 goals and 77 assists in 295 games and reached 100 career points last season. In the 2026 playoffs he became the fifth Flyer defenseman to score in his first postseason game, adding two goals and two assists in ten games. General manager Daniel Brière said Drysdale’s best hockey is still ahead of him and that he will play a key role in strengthening the blue line. The contract leaves the Flyers with roughly $14 million in cap space remaining.
