Philadelphia Highway Tire Crash Injures SUV, Investigation Underway

Around 12:30 p.m. on July 30, a loose tire rolled onto the Schuylkill Expressway (I‑76) near Girard Avenue in Philadelphia. The tire bounced over the concrete median and struck a Nissan Rogue traveling in the left‑most lane, crushing the hood and shattering the windshield.

The impact was captured by a Tesla driver’s dash‑cam, which recorded the tire’s trajectory and the severe front‑end damage. No injuries have been confirmed. Pennsylvania State Police have opened an investigation to determine the tire’s source, suspecting it may have detached from a semi‑truck wheel assembly.
