Philadelphia man charged in attempted burglary of Saquon Barkley’s home

Jabir Parker, 24, of Philadelphia, has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of high-end residential burglaries in the Philadelphia suburbs. The investigation involves an attempted burglary at the Tredyffrin Township home of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley on July 18.

Authorities allege that Barkley and his family were inside the residence when they were awakened by suspicious sounds and discovered an intruder. No injuries were reported, and no property was stolen during that specific incident. Parker faces multiple felony charges, including burglary, conspiracy, and criminal trespass.

Prosecutors link Parker to two prior successful burglaries in Montgomery County. On June 22, a residence in Bryn Mawr was targeted, resulting in the theft of approximately $106,700 in jewelry. On July 5, a home in Wynnewood was burglarized, where investigators allege nearly $687,292 in jewelry and a safe were stolen.

Investigators utilized surveillance footage, cellphone tower data, geofencing records, and a nanny camera to identify Parker. The arrest was conducted by Lower Merion Township police with assistance from the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
