Philadelphia Phillies' Andrew Painter to continue starting despite hamstring tightness

Philadelphia Phillies rookie right-hander Andrew Painter is expected to continue his rotation duties despite recent hamstring concerns. After exiting a game against the Washington Nationals with left hamstring tightness, manager Don Mattingly confirmed Painter will make his next scheduled start against the St. Louis Cardinals. Painter has recently shown improved performance since his July 31 recall from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

In a recent matchup against the Cardinals, the Phillies secured a 6-5 victory. Edmundo Sosa contributed three RBIs, including a two-run double in the eighth inning. Painter pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs and two hits while recording six strikeouts. The win helps the Phillies maintain their position in the postseason race, moving them 4.5 games ahead of the Cardinals.
