Philadelphia Phillies reliever Caleb Kilian placed on injured list

The Philadelphia Phillies have placed reliever Caleb Kilian on the 15-day injured list due to a left oblique strain. Kilian, who was acquired from the San Francisco Giants at the trade deadline, suffered the injury during a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Interim manager Dan Mattingly described the strain as moderate but did not provide a specific timeline for his return.

To fill the vacancy in the bullpen, the Phillies have recalled right-hander Chase Shugart from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Kilian's injury marks the tenth time a Phillies reliever has been placed on the injured list this season.

In other team news, the Phillies secured a 7-6 extra-inning victory against the Blue Jays on Sunday, led by a two-home run performance from Kyle Schwarber. Additionally, manager Dan Mattingly announced a lineup change for the upcoming series against the St. Louis Cardinals, moving Schwarber from designated hitter to first base to accommodate Bryce Harper as the DH.
