Philadelphia police investigate home linked to seven missing women

Authorities are conducting an extensive investigation into a property in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood connected to at least seven missing or unidentified women. The search, involving the Philadelphia police and the FBI, focuses on a home on West Chew Avenue previously owned by the late filmmaker Raymond “R. C.” Horsch.

Investigators recently determined that bones discovered at the site were animal remains rather than human. However, officials reported finding adipocere, a wax-like substance associated with decomposition, during the excavation. While adipocere can be used to identify human remains, experts noted it can also be found in animals, necessitating further testing.

Law enforcement also utilized luminol at the property, which produced a positive chemical reaction indicating traces of blood. Additionally, investigators have recovered a significant volume of digital evidence, including over one million photos and videos. Eugene Horsch, who inherited the property, has not been charged, and his attorney has denied any involvement in the case.
