Philadelphia police seek suspects in Center City armed robberies

Philadelphia police are searching for multiple armed suspects following a series of violent robberies in Center City early Sunday morning. The incidents occurred around 3 a.m. in the 1500 block of Locust Street.

According to authorities, three masked suspects ambushed three victims. One victim was struck in the face with a handgun during an altercation and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects were armed with handguns and at least one individual was seen carrying an AR-15-style rifle. Stolen items included jewelry, electronics, wallets, and cash.

Investigators noted that the use of an AR-15-style rifle in a robbery is unusual. The suspects fled the scene in a gray vehicle, which was later identified as a stolen Honda Accord from Cheltenham Township. The vehicle was recovered in Philadelphia on Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking information from the public.
