Philadelphia Union extend unbeaten run to eight matches
The Philadelphia Union have extended their unbeaten league run to eight matches following a 2-0 victory over CF Montreal at Subaru Park. Goals from Danley Jean Jacques and 16-year-old Cavan Sullivan secured the win, moving the Union to ninth in the Eastern Conference with 27 points.
Sullivan made history during the match, becoming the youngest player in MLS history to record a five-game goal contribution streak. Interim manager Ryan Richter praised the teenager’s ability to find decisive positions and contribute to the team's recent upturn in form.
Philadelphia is currently positioned in playoff contention, sitting just two points behind the automatic qualification spots. Their next fixture is a midweek match against FC Cincinnati, a team currently in sixth place with 31 points. While Cincinnati has struggled recently, including a 4-0 loss to Nashville, they remain ahead of the Union in the standings.
