New England Revolution defeat Philadelphia Union 2-1
The New England Revolution ended the Philadelphia Union’s club-record 15-match unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory at Subaru Park. Goals from Dor Turgeman and Carles Gil secured the win for New England, with Turgeman scoring in first-half stoppage time following an assist from Carles Gil and Peyton Miller. Gil later converted a penalty in the first minute of second-half stoppage time after being fouled by Neil Pierre.
The Union managed a late consolation goal through Neil Pierre in the final minutes of the match. Despite six saves from goalkeeper Andre Blake, Philadelphia was unable to secure the win, which would have helped clinch a playoff spot and a higher seed.
With this victory, the Revolution moved into second place in the Eastern Conference, overtaking Inter Miami on tiebreakers. The win marks New England's third consecutive victory and their second win in a season sweep of the Union.
