Philadelphia Zoo announces seasonal Halloween festivities

The Philadelphia Zoo is hosting its annual Boo at the Zoo event, running every weekend from October 3 through November 1, with an additional session on October 12. The festivities include seasonal animal enrichment, such as pumpkin feedings for hippos, bears, and big cats.

New attractions for this year include the Cryptic Creatures exhibit featuring insects and snakes, and the SEPTA PZ ‘Boo’ Choo Train. Visitors can also experience the Trick-or-Tree House in the zoo’s historic Tree House, which offers decorations and tarot card readings. Other features include a 10-story view of fall foliage via the Pherris Wheel, costume contests, and seasonal food offerings like pumpkin-spiced hot chocolate and apple cider.
