Philanthropic donations support pediatric cancer care and research

Major philanthropic donations have been announced to support pediatric cancer care and research in the United States.

Hogs for the Cause has donated $2 million to Children’s Medical Center Plano. This gift, which is the third-largest capital donation in the campus's history, will fund the expansion of clinical capabilities for cancer and blood disorders. The donation will also increase both inpatient and outpatient capacity. In recognition of the gift, the outpatient unit within the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders will be renamed the Hogs for the Cause Outpatient Unit.

Separately, Energy Transfer, Sunoco, and USA Compression have donated $2.2 million to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. This contribution, driven by an annual employee giving campaign, is intended to benefit pediatric cancer research. Since 2014, employees within the Energy Transfer family of partnerships have contributed more than $20 million to the institution.
