Philanthropists donate millions to advance cancer care in Canada and the US

Philanthropists have made significant donations to advance cancer treatment facilities in Canada and the United States.

In London, Ontario, Craig Combe and Ken MacMaster have donated $2.4 million to the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC). The funds will be used to acquire a second Varian Ethos therapy system, an AI-driven linear accelerator, and to introduce AlignRT radiation therapy and HyperSight imaging systems. These upgrades aim to improve the precision of radiation treatments for various cancers while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue.

In El Paso, Texas, Ronnie and Ashley Lowenfield have committed $300,000 to Texas Tech Health El Paso. The gift will establish the Ronald W. & E. Ashley Lowenfield Tumor Board Room at the future Steve and Nancy Fox Cancer Center. This collaborative space will allow multidisciplinary teams of physicians, surgeons, and radiologists to review complex cases and develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
