Philanthropy Forum discusses AI integration and human values

The 2026 KSoP Philanthropy Forum, hosted by the Korea Philanthropy Society and Sangmyung University in Seoul, addressed the evolving role of artificial intelligence in public interest activities. Participants discussed how AI can enhance efficiency in fundraising, donor analysis, and campaign design, while emphasizing that technology cannot replace human empathy, trust, and ethical judgment.

Key discussions included the potential for AI to assist people with disabilities through smart home technologies and robotic rehabilitation. Experts noted that while AI can handle technical tasks, human practitioners must focus on building authentic relationships with donors. Concerns were also raised regarding the technological gap between large and small non-profit organizations, alongside the need for ethical standards to ensure human rights and safety in the age of automation.
