Philemon Kiriago and Mădălina Florea win Sierre-Zinal 2026

Philemon Kiriago and Mădălina Florea emerged victorious at the 53rd edition of the Sierre-Zinal trail running race. The event, known as the "Race of the Five 4,000-Metre Peaks," covers 31 kilometers with approximately 2,200 meters of elevation gain.

In the men's category, Kenyan athlete Philemon Kiriago secured his third title at the Swiss classic with a time of 2:26:24. He won following a close duel with fellow Kenyan Patrick Kipngeno, who finished 32 seconds later. Michael Selelo Saoli took third place.

In the women's category, Romanian runner Mădălina Florea claimed victory in 2:55:44, continuing a strong competitive season. She narrowly defeated the defending champion, Caroline Kimutai, by 45 or 46 seconds. British runner Morven Goodrum completed the podium in third place.
