Philharmonic orchestras in Slovenia and Serbia announce new concert seasons

The Slovenian Philharmonic has announced the opening of its 2026/27 concert season. Under the slogan ‘Barvito’, the season will feature various subscription cycles and non-subscription concerts. The inaugural performances, scheduled for September 17 and 18 at Cankarjev Dom, will be conducted by chief conductor Kahi Solomnišvili, featuring Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 10.

Meanwhile, the Belgrade Philharmonic is preparing an extensive September schedule consisting of 26 concerts. The program includes specialized performances for infants and young children, such as Saint-Saëns’ ‘Carnival of the Animals’. The orchestra will also honor Serbian Flag Day on September 15 with works by domestic composers and participate in the Mokranjac Days festival in Negotinu.

The Belgrade Philharmonic’s official season, titled ‘Fortissimo’, is set to begin on October 9 at Kolarac, with a program dedicated to the orchestra’s founder, Stevan Hristić.
