Philip Morris International releases inaugural nature-related financial disclosure report

Philip Morris International (PMI) has released its inaugural Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Report. This document provides an assessment of nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities across the company’s global value chain.

As an early adopter of TNFD recommendations, PMI aims to integrate natural capital considerations into its business resilience and decision-making processes. The report is part of the company’s Value Plan 2030+, which identifies nature as one of six strategic priorities alongside climate, circularity, and workforce.

Scott Coutts, PMI’s Global Chief Operations Officer, noted that natural capital functions such as fertile soil, clean water, and pollination services support all aspects of the business. The company stated that these assessments help identify where ecosystem service dependencies might affect manufacturing, agricultural production, and access to raw materials.
