Philip Morris reports mixed H1 2026 financial results across Europe
Philip Morris reported mixed financial results for the first half of 2026 across different regional operations. In Serbia, Philip Morris Operations in Niš saw business revenues rise to 20.7 billion dinars, up from 18.5 billion dinars the previous year. However, net profit decreased to 3.7 billion dinars from nearly 4 billion dinars in the same period in 2025, as operating expenses grew faster than revenue, reaching 16.5 billion dinars.
In the Czech Republic, Philip Morris ČR reported results below expectations. Consolidated revenues reached 10.74 billion CZK, a slight increase of 0.4% year-on-year. Despite positive impacts from product mix and pricing in the smokeless category, declining volumes of traditional cigarettes and unfavorable exchange rates led to a 7.2% drop in net profit to 1.49 billion CZK. The company also noted a decline in market share in both the Czech Republic (39.6%) and Slovakia (48.9%).
Regarding corporate strategy, Marin Mlinarić, Director of Human Resources for Croatia and Slovenia, discussed the company's ongoing transformation. He emphasized the importance of employees acting as ambassadors during the transition from traditional tobacco products to alternative products like IQOS.
