Philippe Bouvard: French media icon dies at 96
French journalist and radio host Philippe Bouvard has died at the age of 96. He passed away on Monday, August 24, in Cannes, where he resided.
Bouvard was a prominent figure in French media, known for creating the long-running radio program 'Les Grosses Têtes' in 1977, which he hosted on RTL for 37 years until 2014. He also launched 'Le Petit théâtre de Bouvard' on television in 1982, a program that helped launch the careers of numerous comedians.
His funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 31, at 3:00 PM at the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Voyage church in Cannes. He will be buried at the Grand Jas cemetery at 5:00 PM. Expected attendees include his family and various media personalities such as Amanda Lear and Muriel Robin.
