Philippe Maindron’s Eiffel Tower art installation transported to Burning Man

CEVA Logistics managed the international transport of ‘Eiffel’s Broken Dream’, a monumental art installation by French artist Philippe Maindron, from France to the United States. The piece was debuted at the Burning Man festival held in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, between August 30 and September 7.

The installation depicts a broken Eiffel Tower and measures 30 meters in length and 15 meters in height, constructed from 29 tons of steel. Originally created in Rochetrejoux, France, the structure was dismantled and packed into two open-top containers and two equipment containers for transit.

Maindron described the work as a representation of the tension between collapse and hope, with the lower section evoking a lost civilization and the upper section symbolizing survival and a better future. Due to the complexity of the numbered components, the artist required a precise logistics partner to ensure the successful assembly of the piece in Nevada.
